What are the eligibility requirements to rent a vehicle?
- Age: Minimum 23 Years, Maximum Age 73 Years
- Driving Experience: No minimum period of driving experience required, individuals with p-plates are welcome.

- Valid Class 3/3A Singapore-issued driving license

- Valid foreign-issued driving license and

- Valid International Driving Permit, if foreign-issued driving license is not in English; or an official notarized translation of the foreign-issued driving license (e.g. documentation issued by the International Automobile Association), where the license is not in English
- Please note that DriveMe reserves the right to decline your booking if you are deemed a potential hazard to your own self and other road users.
Does DriveMe rent to P-plate drivers?
- Yes! However, please note that a higher security deposit and insurance excess will apply.
Can I rent a vehicle with a foreign license?
- For foreigners residing in Singapore for less than 12 months, you must provide
- Valid foreign-issued driving license and
- Valid passport and
- Valid International Driving Permit, if foreign-issued driving license is not in English; or an official notarized translation of the foreign-issued driving license (e.g. documentation issued by the International Automobile Association), where the license is not in English
- For foreigners residing in Singapore for more than 12 months:
- Valid Class 3/3A Singapore-issued driving license
What are DriveMe’s operational hours?
- Monday to Friday – From 9am to 7pm
- Saturday – From 10am to 2pm
Where do I collect and return the vehicle?
- All vehicle collections and returns will be at our flagship store located at 60 Jalan Lam Huat #05-21 S737869, Carros Centre.
Can DriveMe deliver or collect the rental vehicle for me?
Yes, we can! We offer Islandwide Vehicle Delivery and Collection service for your convenience (additional charges apply).
Rates:
- Delivery OR Collection only: $40
- Delivery AND Collection: $65
A minimum lead time of 12 hours is required to guarantee fulfilment. If the service cannot be fulfilled, you will receive a full refund for the additional charges.
BOOKING
How do I rent a vehicle?
- Visit www.driveme.sg
- Choose your rental duration
- Choose your preferred vehicle model & select any optional add ons
- Fill up details and proceed with payment to confirm your booking
- During vehicle collection, pay security deposit and settle any outstanding amounts (if applicable)
- Drive off after signing the contract!
How early in advance do I need to book a vehicle?
Bookings must be made at least two (2) hours before your desired collection time on the rental commencement date.
What happens if the reserved vehicle becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances?
DriveMe will make every reasonable effort to provide the exact vehicle you have booked. However, if the reserved vehicle becomes unavailable for any reason before the rental commences, DriveMe reserves the right to substitute it with another vehicle of a similar category, based on our website’s vehicle classification and subject to availability, without further liability.
VEHICLE RENTAL
How are the rental fees charged?
Rental rates are charged on a 24-hour, per-night basis.
Example:
- Rental period: 12 Nov, 2:00 PM – 14 Nov, 2:00 PM
- Selected vehicle model: Toyota Corolla Altis (Standard) at $89/night
- Security deposit: $1,000 (varies by vehicle model)
Calculation:
- Your rental duration is 3 days and 2 nights.
- You will be charged on a nightly basis: $89 × 2 nights = $178
Grand Total: $178 (rental fee) + $1,000 (security deposit via Credit Card / Cash / PayNow) = $1,178
What are the timings for the Collection / Return of vehicle?
Vehicle collection and return are available every hour between the following times on Monday - Friday:
- First collection/return: 10:00 AM
- Last collection/return: 7:00 PM
Vehicle collection and return are available every hour between the following times on Saturday:
- First collection/return: 10:00 AM
- Last collection/return: 2:00 PM
Returns outside of our operational hours are strictly prohibited. Any unauthorised return of the rental vehicle outside of our operational hours will be subject to a one-time per booking surcharge of $500, exclusive of prevailing taxes.
What time must I return the vehicle?
Your return timing must match your chosen collection timing. For example, If your collection time is 10 AM, the return time must also be 10 AM. A 1-hour grace period applies before any late return fees are charged.
What happens if I return the vehicle late?
If the vehicle is returned after the default return time and beyond the 1-hour grace period, an additional 1-night rental fee will apply.
Examples:
- Collection time and return time both at 12 PM → No additional charge
- Collection time at 12 PM, return at 11 AM (1 hour earlier) → No additional charge
- Collection at 12 PM, return at 1:01 PM or later → Additional 1-night rental surcharge applies
Will I get a discount on rental fees if I return the vehicle early?
Unfortunately, no discounts, incentives, or rebates will be provided for any unused portion of the rental period if the vehicle is returned early.
Is a security deposit required for the rental of the vehicle?
Yes. A security deposit ranging from SGD $500 to SGD $5,000 is required for all DriveMe bookings.The exact deposit amount will be determined by DriveMe, based on factors such as the make and model of the rental vehicle and the driving experience of the main driver and/or any additional driver(s).
Can I add additional drivers to drive the vehicle?
Yes, you can register up to 2 additional drivers for your booking.
What is DriveShield / CDW?
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an insurance coverage that reduces your insurance excess in the event of a vehicle accident. At DriveMe, CDW is called DriveShield, and it comes in three tiers with different levels of coverage, which varies based on your driving experience.
- DriveShield Lite – Included in all rental prices ($12/night)
- DriveShield Pro – Upgrade for -50% excess payable (+ $18/night)
- DriveShield Elite – Upgrade for $0 excess payable (+ $40/night)
DriveShield Lite is mandatory and included in your rental price. You can choose to upgrade to Elite or Pro for extra coverage!
For individuals with less than 24 months of driving experience, upgrading to DriveShield Elite or Pro will decrease your excess payable by different percentages.
Please refer to “In the event of a vehicle accident, what is the accident excess payable?” question for the respective excess payable amounts.
What is DriveShield Pro?
All DriveMe rentals include DriveShield Lite. Upgrading to DriveShield Pro for an additional $18/night reduces your maximum excess payable by half in the event of an accident, if you have at least 24 months of driving experience.
For individuals with less than 24 months of driving experience, upgrading to DriveShield Pro will decrease your excess payable by different percentages.

What is DriveShield Elite?
All DriveMe rentals include DriveShield Lite. Upgrading to DriveShield Elite for an additional $40/night reduces your maximum excess payable to $0 in the event of an accident, if you have at least 24 months of driving experience.
For individuals with less than 24 months of driving experience, upgrading to DriveShield Elite will decrease your excess payable by different percentages.

Can each driver have different DriveShield / CDW tiers?
No. The DriveShield tier is determined by the main driver’s choice, and all additional drivers will be covered under the same tier.
Additional Driver Charges: Each additional driver will incur CDW fees based on the tier selected by the main driver.
- Example: If the main driver selects DriveShield Elite, all additional drivers will be charged and covered under DriveShield Elite.
Please note that all rental terms and conditions that apply to the main driver also apply to all registered additional drivers. Unregistered drivers are not permitted to operate the vehicle. If this rule is breached, the main driver will bear unlimited liability.
Can I drive DriveMe’s vehicle to Malaysia? / Is DriveMe’s fleet VEP ready?
Yes. You may drive the car up to the borders of West Malaysia by paying a daily surcharge of $20. West Malaysia includes the following states: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor, Terengganu.Please note that driving the car beyond West Malaysia, including into Thailand is strictly prohibited.

Please do not use WhatsApp calls. If you are in Malaysia and cannot make an international call, please ask someone in Singapore to contact our hotlines on your behalf.
In the event of a vehicle accident, will I be reimbursed for the unused rental days?
If you or the authorised driver is deemed not at fault by the insurance company after its investigation (“win-case”), you will receive a refund of the rental charges for the unused rental day(s), based on the same 24-hour cycle; and the prepaid accident excess.
If you or the authorised driver is deemed at fault (“lose-case”), no refund will be provided for the unused rental days or the prepaid accident excess.
Is it possible to request a vehicle orientation?
Yes, of course! If you’d like a car orientation, just WhatsApp us at +65 9888 8518 and we’ll arrange it for you.
Will I be provided with a CashCard / Touch ‘n Go Card when I rent a vehicle?
No, a stored value card will not be provided. You will need to prepare your own card for payment at car parks and ERP gantries.
Will I be provided with a replacement vehicle in the event of a breakdown / vehicle accident?
If your car experiences a breakdown, we apologise for the inconvenience and are committed to getting you the help you need as quickly as possible.
For Breakdowns in Singapore: We will arrange a replacement car as quickly as possible. Some lead time may be required, and the replacement may not be the same model. We aim for a 6-hour turnover time and will provide a vehicle that suits your needs. If the replacement is of a lower category according to DriveMe’s category definitions, you will receive a refund for the price difference in rental rates. If the replacement is of the same or higher category, there will be no additional charges.
For Breakdowns in Malaysia: Unfortunately, we cannot provide a replacement car in Malaysia. Please contact our Vehicle Breakdown Hotline at +65 9888 8885 immediately. Do not use WhatsApp calls. If you cannot make an international call, you may ask someone in Singapore to call on your behalf. Our roadside assistance team will respond and help resolve the issue as soon as possible.
In the event of a vehicle accident, what is the accident excess payable?
The insurance excess is the maximum amount you are required to pay out of pocket in the event of an accident. You must prepay the full excess on the day the accident occurs, subjected to prevailing GST. If the actual costs and losses incurred by DriveMe are less than the prepaid excess, the difference will be refunded to you. The excess payable are as follows:

What is Rim Protector?
For an additional $5 per night, receive up to $100 in coverage for any rim damage that occurs during your rental period.
What is Tyre Protector?
For an additional $5 per night, receive up to $100 in coverage for any tyre damage that occurs during your rental period..
What is Dent Protector?
For an additional $5 per night, receive up to $100 in coverage for any dent that occurs during your rental period.
What is Scratch Protector?
For an additional $5 per night, receive up to $100 in coverage for any scratch that occurs during your rental period.
Is cross-border coverage available for Malaysia? / What is TowMe Coverage?
- Yes! It is called TowMe Coverage. TowMe Coverage provides protection and support in the event of a breakdown or accident in Malaysia. Coverage is charged at $30 per night. If an accident occurs, all towing and tyre-patching services will be provided at no additional cost.
PAYMENT METHODS
What are the available payment options?
You can pay online using:
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Alipay, or WeChat Pay.
For onsite payments:
- Rental fees can be paid by card, PayNow, or cash.
- Security deposit can be placed via a credit card hold, PayNow, or cash.
POLICIES
What is DriveMe's Late Return Policy?
DriveMe allows a 1-hour grace period for vehicle returns. After this grace period, a late return fee equivalent to one night’s rental will be applied.
What are the Amendments, Cancellation & Refund Policies of DriveMe?
You may amend or cancel your booking at any time before the commencement of your rental booking. Charges may apply based on the time of amendment or cancellation. Charges are as follows:

Promotional packages (e.g. Lunar New Year, Christmas, Hari Raya, etc) supersede these standard terms. Upon confirmation of any promotional-priced booking, no cancellations or refunds will be accepted under any circumstance.
What is DriveMe's Fuel Return Policy?
We do not have a full tank guarantee policy. The hirer must return the rental vehicle with a fuel level equal to that at the time of collection, measured to the nearest ⅛ of the fuel gauge. A Fuel Service Fee of SGD $30 will be imposed for each ⅛ tank shortfall.
What is DriveMe's Electric Vehicle Battery Level Return Policy?
Battery levels will be measured in percentage at both vehicle collection and return, and the battery percentage at return must match the level at collection, subject to a tolerance margin of + / - 5%. A battery charge fee of SGD $30 will be imposed if the return battery percentage falls more than 15% below the collected level.
Can I buy / place / consume durians in the vehicle?
No. To maintain a pleasant environment for all users, durians are strictly prohibited in all our vehicles. If any durian odour is detected upon return, a cleaning fee of $500 (before GST) will be charged.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all DriveMe vehicles. Vehicles returned with smoke odour will incur a non-compliance cleaning fee of $500 (before GST).
