DriveMe Terms & Conditions

1. General Eligibility

1.1 Age Requirement

  • Minimum: 23 years
  • Maximum: 73 years

1.2 Driving Experience

  • No minimum required; P-plate drivers are allowed.
  • Drivers with 0–23 months of experience are subject to higher security deposit and insurance excess.
  • Drivers with ≥24 months of experience are eligible for standard security deposit and insurance excess.

1.3 License Requirements

  • Singapore Residents / PR / Foreign Residents residing > 12 months: Valid Class 3/3A Singapore-issued license.
  • Foreigners residing < 12 months: Valid foreign license, passport, and International Driving Permit (or notarised translation if the license is not in English).

1.4 Safety Disclaimer

  • DriveMe reserves the right to decline bookings if a driver is deemed a potential hazard.
2. Booking & Collection

2.1 Booking Process

  • Book via www.driveme.sg at least 2 hours before collection.
  • Select vehicle, rental duration, and optional add-ons.
  • Confirm booking with payment and pay the security deposit at collection after signing a contract.

2.2 Vehicle Availability

DriveMe may substitute the reserved vehicle with another of similar category if unavailable, without additional liability.

2.3 Collection & Return

  • Location: 60 Jalan Lam Huat #05-21, Carros Centre, Singapore.
  • Operational Hours: 9 AM – 9 PM daily (first collection 9 AM, last 8 PM).
  • Returns outside operational hours will incur a SGD $500 surcharge.
  • Pick-up/Drop-off and Delivery/Collection services available for additional fees ($25–$65) with 12-hour advance notice.
3. Rental Fees & Payment

3.1 Rates & Charges

  • Charged on a 24-hour, per-night basis.
  • Security deposit required: SGD $500–$5,000 (depends on vehicle and driver experience).
  • Late return: 1-hour grace period; thereafter, a 1-night rental fee applies.
  • Early return: No refunds / rebates / incentives.

3.2 Payment Methods

  • Online: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, UnionPay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay.
  • Onsite: Credit card, PayNow, or cash (for rental fees and security deposit).
4. Insurance & DriveShield (CDW)

4.1 DriveShield Coverage

  • Lite (included): Basic coverage, $12/night.
  • Elite: 50% reduction of insurance excess, +$18/night.
  • Pro: Zero excess payable, +$40/night.

4.2 Additional Drivers

  • Up to 2 additional drivers permitted, covered under the main driver’s selected DriveShield tier.
  • Unregistered drivers are strictly prohibited; unlimited liability will fall on the main driver.

4.3 Insurance Excess

  • Excess varies by driver experience, vehicle category, accident location, and DriveShield tier.
  • Specific excess tables apply for Singapore and West Malaysia (see FAQ for details).
5. Vehicle Use & Restrictions

5.1 Cross-Border Travel

  • Entry to West Malaysia is permitted with a $20/night surcharge.
  • Entry beyond West Malaysia, including Thailand, is strictly prohibited.

5.2 Fuel & Battery Policy

  • Vehicles must be returned at the same fuel level (measured to nearest ⅛). Shortfall incurs SGD $30 per ⅛ tank.
  • EV battery level must match collection level ±5%. Shortfall > 15% incurs SGD $30 fee.

5.3 Prohibited Items & Conduct

  • Durians, smoking, and vaping are strictly prohibited. Non-compliance will incur a $500 cleaning fee.
6. Roadside Assistance & Replacement Vehicles

6.1 Hotlines

  • Accident & Emergency / Breakdown (Singapore & Malaysia): +65 9888 8885
  • Do not use WhatsApp calls.

6.2 Breakdowns

  • Singapore: Replacement vehicle will be arranged but may differ from original make & model. Refunds given if replacement is a lower category.
  • Malaysia: No replacement vehicles provided.

6.3 Accidents

  • Refund of unused rental days depends on fault determination by insurance ("win-case" vs "lose-case").
7. Add-Ons

7.1 Protection Options ($5/night each)

  • Rim Protector: Up to $100 coverage
  • Tyre Protector: Up to $100 coverage
  • Dent Protector: Up to $100 coverage
  • Scratch Protector: Up to $100 coverage

7.2 TowMe Coverage (Malaysia)

$30/night, includes towing and tyre-patching services.

8. Amendments, Cancellations & Refunds

Promotional bookings are non-refundable and non-amendable.

9. Liability & Responsibility

9.1 Driver Responsibility

  • Drivers are responsible for all tolls, fines, parking fees, and damages during the rental period.

9.2 Towing Charges

  • Malaysia: All tow charges borne by the hirer.

9.3 Compliance

Hirers must comply with traffic laws, rental terms, and DriveMe instructions.

10. Miscellaneous
  • Vehicle orientation available upon request via WhatsApp (+65 9888 8518).
  • No CashCard / Touch ‘n Go provided; hirers must prepare their own for tolls and parking.

DriveMe reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
